About

Welcome to A Little White Dog.

I’m Mark – a passionate animal lover, natural history geek and the owner of ALWD. We are incredibly proud to be sponsors of the Cocker and English Springer Spaniel Rescue and if you have a CAESSR dog then please contact us for a discount. We donate the discount to CAESSR to help them carry on their amazing work with spaniels in need.

Animals have been a huge part of my life – both from childhood through to this, my 47th year! I’ve been an award winning wildlife and landscape photographer for over 20 years having had work published in BBC Wildlife, Cornwall Today and a range of specialist photographic magazines.

My most photographed subjects away from wildlfe – in fact who am I kidding, are dogs. I love everything about them – their characters, their nature, their individuality and know the best memories are made when out with them in our favourite places. That is the concept behind “A Little White Dog”. Inspired by Zoe – the original “LWD” with whom I shared so many adventures.

I believe that, rather than posed in a studio, the most wonderful portraits of your best friends are taken when they are at their most natural and relaxed – out in their favourite places with their humans! Take me with you on your walk so I can get to know you and your dogs. We can then work together to capture genuine memories which do these special little (or not so little) creatures justice.

I am fully DBS checked with references available on request.

I currently live in Cheshire with my partner and our four adopted dogs. You can find out more about my own adventures with Biz an eleven year old Jack Russel/Staffy cross, Chewy a seven year old Sprocker, Willow a two year old Golden Cocker and Betty a seven year old Jack Russell over on the Little White Blog.

I developed Ulcerative Pancolitis after a severe case of Campylobacter which left me unable to work full time due to regular medical appointments. After working in software project management and medical software design I decided to start my own business. The long hours and amount of travel conflicted with my ongoing treatment. At the start of 2020 ALWD was born based around my passion for the outdoors and our best friends.

I’m looking forward to meeting you and of course the real stars of the show.
